The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has approved an 11% reduced heat energy tariff in Riga, and from the 1st of August this year it will be 40.46 EUR / MWh without VAT.
Takin into account the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which also affects the solvency of residents and companies, the joint-stock company “RĪGAS SILTUMS” reduces the heat energy tariff for the third time in four months. The total reduction in the heat tariff this year is more than 22%, and it is the lowest tariff in the last four years.
From the 1st of August, the approved heat energy tariff in Riga will also be the lowest among the largest cities of Latvia. It is lower than the heat energy tariff in Valmiera, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Rēzekne, Liepāja, Jēkabpils, Jūrmala and Ventspils.
JSC “RĪGAS SILTUMS” hopes that the reduction of the heat energy tariff will make it easier for the inhabitants of Riga to pay for the services received and start the heating season in time!
