During Jāņi celebration, on 23 and 24 June, public transport in Riga will be free of charge for residents and visitors of the city. There will also be additional transport services to and from events organised in different areas of the city. There will also be changes to the opening hours of car parks and customer service centres. 

Public transport

On 23 and 24 June, Rīgas satiksme buses, trolleybuses and trams will be free of charge, so passengers do not need to register their e-ticket or code ticket. 

In conjunction with the Midsummer's Eve events planned in the Green Theatre in Mežaparks, Grīziņkalns and Dzegužkalns, from 23 June at approximately 19:00 until 24 June at approximately 05:30, additional services will be organised from the city centre:

  • 3, 11, combined bus routes 12, 23 and 26 (via Akmens tilts), bus routes 18, 24, 25, 37, 48, 50, 51 and 53;
  • tram routes 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11;
  • trolleybus routes 4, 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27.

Car parks

On 23 and 24 June, paid parking in Riga Municipality operated by Rīgas satiksme will be free of charge. 

In the underground car park at 5A K. Valdemāra iela, payment is subject to the tariffs in force.

Customer service centres

On 21 June, the Riga Support Centre for Ukrainian Residents will be open from 9:00 to 15:00, and the centre at 49/53 Brīvības iela will be open from 8:00 to 15:00. Other customer service centres will work as usual on working days – at Stacijas laukums 2 from 10:00 to 20:00, and other customer service centres – from 9:00 to 18:00. 

On 22 and 23 June, the opening hours of the customer service centre at Stacijas laukums 2 will be from 10:00 to 18:00. Other customer service centres will be closed. 

All customer service centres will be closed on 24 June.
