Ielu remontdarbi Rīgā

The ambitious street renewal project launched last year continues in Riga this year - it is planned to resurface 46 streets or sections of asphalted streets this season with a budget of €32 million.

Some of the biggest repairs this season will be on Firsa Sadovņikova Street from Lāčplēša Street to Katoļu Street, Cesvaines Street, Vietalva Street and Sesku Street in the section from Piedrujas Street to Dārzciema Street, Lielirbes Street from Ventspils Street to Kauguru Street, the section of Kleistu Street from Mārtiņa Peniķa Street to Lielā Street, Vecāķu Street in the section from Emmas Street to Palejas Street, Baldones Street in the section from Slokas Street to Gregora Street, Granīta Street from Krustpils Street to Dzirkaļu Street and from Dzirkaļu Street to the city border, as well as Roberta Feldmaņa Street in the section from Ezermalas Street to Briges Street, Kārļa Vatsona Street, Klaipēdas Street, Poruka Street, Glika Street, Stokholma Street and others.

It is planned that almost all streets will have their adjacent pavements renovated alongside the carriageway.

For the time being the research of more than 70 gravel streets is being carried out - the technical feasibility of double-surfacing these streets are being assessed and planned utility works in the networks of these streets are being carried out. EUR 3 million are being requested in the local government budget for this purpose, and if this funding is allocated, work could be carried out on 70-80 gravel streets or their sections in Bieriņi, Dārziņi, Beberbeķi, Jugla, Berģi, Jaunciems and elsewhere.

It has already been reported that last year, 32 asphalted streets and 86 gravel streets were resurfaced. The area renovated on gravel streets amounted to 90 thousand square metres and on asphalted streets to 630 thousand square metres.
