Koka logu restaurācijas darbnīca

The Property Department of the Riga Municipality invites the owners of historic buildings in Riga to apply for free practical training, where they can learn how to restore wooden window sashes under the guidance of craftsmen and restoration experts. The training will take place from June to September at the premises of “Koka Rīga”, 12 Krāsotāju Street. Applications for training can be submitted until 30 April this year. We invite you to take this opportunity to work together for the preservation of Riga's historical heritage!

By offering free practical training for owners of historic buildings in Riga on the restoration of the exterior sashes of wooden windows, the local government aims to raise awareness of the cultural heritage of building owners and to give them the opportunity to participate in the restoration and preservation of the authentic values of their property under the guidance of master craftsmen and restoration experts.

The training will take place over three months on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, offering opportunities to work during the first half of the day and in the evening. During the training, participants will learn practical skills in window puttying, glazing, painting, hardware cleaning and other essential skills. All work will be carried out in a fully equipped restoration workshop and each participant will be provided with an individual window restoration description and work schedule based on the technical condition of the window.

After the training, the Property Department of Riga Municipality will reimburse the participants for the cost of materials used in the restoration process – paint, window sash fittings, glass, etc.

To apply for the training, please apply in person at the Customer Service Centre of the Property Department, 10 Kalēju Street, Riga or by sending an application electronically to atjauno@riga.lv. Places for the training are limited, therefore interested persons are invited not to hesitate and register early!
