Riga City Council has adopted a decision at the meeting of the Finance and Administration Issues Committee to support organisation of the UEFA European Futsal Championship final tournament in Riga in 2006.
Municipal co-funding in the amount of 300,000 euro will be assigned to support the organisation of the UEFA European Futsal Championship final tournament. 150,000 euro are to be assigned from the Riga municipal budget 2025, another 150,000 euro - from the next year’s budget. Funding will be assigned from the programme “Measures facilitating competitiveness and economic growth of the Riga State City municipality”.
Co-funding constitutes 6.64% of the total estimate of the UEFA European Futsal Championship final tournament 2026. Funding for the association “Latvijas Futbola federācija” (Latvian Football Federation) is provided for the provision of the organisational requirements necessary for the tournament – rent of infrastructure, rent of vehicles for the mobility of participants, security measures at the venue, promotion of the tournament in foreign media and marketing activities.
Decision was adopted at the meeting of the Riga City Council Finance and Administration Issues Committee on 13 February, and the final decision will be adopted at the next meeting of the Riga City Council.
The tournament will take place in Riga from 20 January to 7 February 2026.
