As the schoolchildren will return to schools, the Riga City Council Traffic Department invites all traffic participants to pay special attention to road traffic safety, observing the Road Traffic Regulations.
Taking in consideration that children and teenagers during Covid restrictions may have forgotten the road safety regulations and that classes in educational establishments has resumed after more than six months, traffic participants are called upon to pay particular attention to road safety, not only near the schools but also at parks, skate parks, shopping centres.
Drivers and cyclists are encouraged to follow speed limits near schools. Parents are also invited to re-try the way to the school or transport stop with their offspring and to discuss different situations on the streets.
