On Monday, 23 September, Riga Municipality donated six cars and 60 computers for use in Ukraine in Kherson and Chernihiv oblasts. The donation will be delivered to Ukraine by the association "TEV".
"Today's donation of 60 computer kits and six cars is a sign that we are continuing to assist Ukraine with practical donations that will help Ukrainians to continue their work and save lives. Every donation is important to them. I invite residents of Riga and every resident of Latvia to donate at least one euro, which can save people's lives. Thanks to the association "TEV", which helps to deliver this cargo to Ukraine. We will stand with Ukraine until its complete victory," says Riga Deputy Mayor Edvards Ratnieks.
To provide general support to Ukraine, four cars owned by the Department of Urban Development and two cars owned by the Department of Outdoor Space and Mobility, including one Opel Astra Caravan, two Toyota Corollas, one Toyota Auris, a Volvo V70 and a Mazda 6, have been prepared for donation. The "TEV" association will deliver them to the Chernihiv oblast.
Riga Digital Agency prepared a set of 60 computers for donation, consisting of desktop computers and monitors. The donation will be delivered to Kherson oblast Clinical Hospital for free use.
SIA "Rīgas ūdens" in cooperation with the Embassy of Latvia in Ukraine and the Ministry of Energy, prepared a donation of transformers, which will be delivered to Chernihiv. While Riga 1st Hospital donated 15 perfusion pumps to Kherson Hospital.
Also, a fire engine, food items, including food for pets, were also donated.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine Anatoliy Kucevol, as well as representatives from the Riga Digital Agency and "TEV". The donation is expected to arrive in Ukraine on 26 September.
Since 24 February 2022, when the Russia began its full-scale attack on Ukraine, the Riga Municipality has provided continuous and extensive support to Ukraine in its fight against the invaders and continues to provide support to Ukrainian civilians coming to Riga as refugees.
