Last weekend, on Saturday, the ski track at the Uzvaras Park was opened in Riga. In the capital, the inhabitants of Riga are able to enjoy winter fun on three cross-country ski tracks. Equipment rental is also available.
Three ski slopes will be open this winter: The Uzvaras Park, Lucavsala and Purvciems near the Riga 84 Secondary School. The tracks in Lucavsala and Uzvaras Park are made using artificial snow, which can be produced if the air temperature is below -4 degrees. The track in Purvciems will be made of natural snow.
There are already ski tracks made of natural snow in Lucavsala and near the Riga 84 Secondary School, which everyone in Riga can use with their own ski equipment.
Equipment rental will be available at all tracks. Since Saturday, the rental point is open at Uzvaras Park, and rental points at other ski tracks will open soon. The rental points will be open daily from 10:00 to 21:00.
The ski tracks will be open if the weather conditions are suitable!
