With the first Advent in Riga, the city's main Christmas trees gleams in Rātslaukums and the Doma Square as every year.

The tree's decorations were turned on today by the Riga City Council Chairman Mārtiņš Staķis. “The lighting of the Riga tree this year is calmer than in the past, while the lightness in the city and the atmosphere of Christmas will be no less than in other years. From today, Riga will gradually gleam more and more - neighborhood parks will also be illuminated, providing additional festive feelings for Riga citizens and guests. “Let the lightness come and Christmas come into town,” says Mārtiņš Staķis.
