The people of Bremen present Riga with a memorial stone in honour of the exterminated Jews
On Tuesday, 14th of July, in the territory of the Riga Ghetto and the Latvian Holocaust Museum, the gift from the Bremen residents to Riga was solemnly unveiled - a memorial stone dedicated to the memory of the Jews exterminated in the territory of Latvia during the Second World War.
Many Bremen residents, the German People's Union and several large Bremen companies took part in the creation of the memorial stone with their donations. For years, the authors of the idea of the memorial stone, Kris Steinbrehers, and the artist Dagmar Kale have been working on the creation of environmental objects and memorials, which testify to the crimes against Jews and prisoners of war committed during the Second World War.
