Homeless persons and other disadvantaged persons shall be provided with leisure facilities, social work, social rehabilitation, catering, personal hygiene and other services during the day with a view to motivating those groups of persons to change their social situation and promoting their integration into society.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    The services of the day centre shall be granted on the basis of a person's application and an assessment of the individual needs and resources of a social worker.
    The assessment shall be carried out
    1. Social worker of the Day Center, if the customer targets the Daily Center and the client does not have a permanent place of residence.
    2. Riga Social Service social employee, if the client has a permanent residence, as well as if the client has turned to Riga Social Service and does not have a permanent residence.
    3. Shelter/night shelter social worker if the customer receives a shelter/night shelter service.

  2. Receipt of services
    Person receives the service in the Daily Centre for the homeless and other disadvantaged
    The following services are available to the person at the centre of the day:
    1) stay in working days from 9:00 to 16:45 and from 1 November to 1 March also on holiday and holiday days;
    2) services of social work specialists and psychologists;
    3) social rehabilitation services (educational, skills learning, physical capacity development, work skills acquisition and social rehabilitation, including activities of support and self-help groups);
    4) family doctor services at the level of primary health care (registered persons);
    5) shower service (hygiene products are not provided);
    6) disinfection services;
    7) lunch for clients who participate in the activities of the Centre of the Day and perform the duties of participation;
    8) laundry service.
    The Centre of the Day operates the Riga Central Library Book Issue Point, as well as the Internet access has been provided.
