Get a service

The service is provided according to the catch-sterilized-release programme of the Non-Host Cats Population Control.
In order to receive a service, a natural or legal person shall complete an application form in which the canine colony of the non-host is informed and expressed his or her wish to have a cat sterilisation carried out, as well as indicate that a cat catker is required.
The submission shall be submitted to the Housing and Environment Department of the Riga City Council or to the city of Riga.
The application shall be registered. Regarding the progress of his or her application, the submitter may receive information on the homepage of the Housing and Environment Department of the Riga City Council.
When the turn of the application arrives, the cat-catcher shall contact the applicant and agree on the time of catching the cats. In order to make the cat catching process as effective as possible, it is desirable to cooperate with cat catchers. After sterilisation, cats are returned to their catching areas.
The sterilisation of the cat shall include: medical examination, sterilisation, marking, cutting off the tip of the left ear, post-operative maintenance at the clinic at least 1 day, vaccination against rabies.
Castration of the cat shall include: medical examination, castration, marking, cutting off the tip of the left ear, post-operative maintenance at the clinic at least until the effects of anaesthetics, vaccination against rabies have been completed.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    The submitter shall submit an application to the Kancelejā of the Department of Housing and Environment or to the city of Riga. The submitter may send an application to the RD Department of Housing and Environment by post or e-mail.

  2. Receipt of services
    Animal catchers' services are harvested, transported to veterinary clinics and returned to catching sites
