The service is provided according to the catch-sterilized-release programme of the Non-Host Cats Population Control. In order to receive the service, a natural or legal person shall complete an application form in which he or she certifies that he or she wishes to sterilize the non-farm cats, take them to the veterinary clinic and return them to the place of catchment. The submission shall be submitted to the Housing and Environment Department of the Riga City Council or to the city of Riga.
The application shall be registered and the submitter shall be informed of the serial number of the application in the list and the foreseeable time of execution of the service. Regarding the progress of his or her application, the submitter may receive information on the homepage of the Housing and Environment Department of the Riga City Council.
When the turn of the application arrives, the department shall inform the submitter to which the cats to be sterilized must be delivered.
The sterilisation of the cat shall include: medical examination, sterilisation, marking, cutting off the tip of the left ear, post-operative maintenance at the clinic at least 1 day, vaccination against rabies.
Castration of the cat shall include: medical examination, castration, marking, cutting off the tip of the left ear, post-operative maintenance at the clinic at least until the effects of anaesthetics, vaccination against rabies have been completed.
Service requests
The submitter shall submit an application to the Kancelejā of the Department of Housing and Environment or to the city of Riga residents Centre The submitter may send an application to the RD Housing and Environment Department by post or e-mail.
Receipt of services
The submitter shall deliver to the department information the non-host cats in person at the veterinary clinic specified to the applicant and return them after sterilisation.
