Process description
Service requests
In order to receive a temporary accommodation service, the person or his or her lawful representative shall submit the documents to the Social Service of Riga in accordance with the Cabinet Regulation No. 138, Regulations regarding the Receiving of Social Services and Social Assistance.

If a family receives a social work service association “Latvian SOS Children's Villages Association”, it shall submit an application to the association “Latvian SOS Children's Villages Association”.A service charge
If a client receives a temporary accommodation service, the client has a duty to pay the social service provider for the operation of the residential space, kitchen and sharing facilities (according to the applicable part).Receipt of services
After receiving all the documents, a decision regarding the granting/refusal of social service is taken within 10 working days.
The social service applicant shall be informed of the decision taken.
The person receives the service at his or her temporary residence.
The temporary accommodation service shall be provided for recipients who are actively involved in solving their problems in the performance of their participation duties for up to 6 months per year. If necessary, a reservice person (family) may receive a service not later than 1 year after the service was received.
